Mediation and Collaborative Law

We believe very strongly that it is important for you to have a clear understanding about the different processes that are available to you.  You will need to be able to make informed decisions about what the right process is for you.

Mediation involves both parties in working out financial issues and/or arrangements for the children with a mediator who works with the couple to achieve their objectives in a safe and constructive environment.

Collaborative law is a newer process than mediation and involves your lawyer representing you in series of round table meetings with your spouse or partner.  The collaborative lawyer has received specialist training to conduct these meetings in an open and non-confrontational way whilst still supporting you through the process.  Our lawyers are collaboratively trained.
